About
Career Assist and Consulting, LLC was established by Sarah House in November 2018 to provide direct services to individuals enrolled in Social Security’s Ticket to Work program as a member of the American Dream Employment Network. Sarah has been working in the field of services for people with disabilities since 2008 in a variety of roles, starting as a direct support professional in residential services. She worked for eight years as a Medicaid Service Coordinator in New York state, two and half years of which were in a supervisory role. She also gained experience as a broker, assisting individuals in the development and budgeting of self-directed service plans, incorporating visual mapping techniques.
In February 2018 Sarah became credentialed as a Certified Work Incentives Practitioner through Cornell University’s Yang-Tan Institute on Employment and Disability while working for an employment services agency. She authored the agency’s first Work Incentives Coordination Manual including annual program goals, program guidelines, referral and enrollment forms, service plan templates, youth services curriculum, and staff training materials.
Sarah provides consulting and mentoring services to agencies who do not have a fully accredited work incentives practitioner on staff. This allows for continuation of services for participants, while providing mentorship and training for staff who are completing the credentialing course. She is also available for trainings and presentations with services tailored to the individual needs of the organization.
